Designs that represent a particular era undergo changes over time, even when they possess enduring durability, as they may no longer fit the evolving ambiance of contemporary living spaces. To avoid becoming obsolete in modern society and to remain relevant today, we drew inspiration from the characteristics of traditional Korean furniture dating back to the Joseon era, which holds its relevance in our lives even a century later.

Our goal was to craft something timeless that could withstand the test of time in our evolving world. This philosophy gave birth to Sa-Bang. Sa-Bang places a strong emphasis on the core value of the product, incorporating minimalistic features and an aesthetic that embraces simplicity while seamlessly blending with its surroundings. This design ensures the product‘s versatility across various spaces and maintains its refined appearance for long-term use.

Sa-Bang is constructed with a flat-packing structure, reducing carbon emissions during transportation and occupying minimal space for storage or when moved to a different location. It also offers the advantage of easy part replacement and can be customized to meet the user’s desired Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) preferences.

Additionally, we employed an interlocking structure where every component securely supports one another, making it highly resilient against wear and breakage over time

To eliminate the issue of furniture parts becoming disposable due to difficult repairs when damaged, we‘ve designed every component as a modular unit, ensuring ease of partial repair or replacement.

This modularity allows for the use of a variety of materials that are available in the user’s environment and even permits design alterations, thereby extending the product‘s lifespan.

특정 시대를 대표하는 디자인은 시간이 흐르며 변화를 겪기 마련입니다. 아무리 내구성이 뛰어나더라도 현대 생활 공간의 변화하는 분위기와 어울리지 않을 수 있습니다. 이에 현대 사회에서도 변하지 않는 가치를 유지하며 시대에 뒤쳐지지 않는 디자인을 만들기 위해, 우리는 조선시대 전통 가구의 특징에서 영감을 얻었습니다. 사방탁자는 제품의 본질적인 가치를 중심으로, 미니멀한 디자인과 단순미를 강조하며 주변 환경과 자연스럽게 어우러지는 모습을 지향합니다.

사방탁자는 평면 포장(flat-pack) 구조로 설계되어 운송 시 탄소 배출을 줄이고, 보관하거나 다른 장소로 이동할 때도 부피를 최소화할 수 있습니다. 또한, 부품 교체가 간편하며 사용자가 원하는 색상, 소재, 마감(CMF)을 맞춤형으로 선택할 수 있습니다.

모든 부품이 서로를 견고히 지탱하는 결합(interlocking) 구조를 적용해, 시간이 지나도 마모와 파손에 강한 내구성을 제공하며 또한, 손상된 가구를 수리하기 어렵다는 이유로 쉽게 폐기되는 문제를 해결하기 위해 모든 부품을 모듈화했습니다. 이를 통해 필요한 부분만 간단히 수리하거나 교체할 수 있습니다. 사방탁자의 모듈형 디자인의 유연성은 제품의 수명을 획기적으로 연장시킵니다.
