Description
This work explores the interplay of symmetry and patterns by reimagining traditional Korean landscape paintings (산수화) through fractal designs printed on recycled plastic surfaces. The piece seeks to bridge past and present, drawing a sense of “connection” by reflecting on historical landscapes within a contemporary context.
By traversing the flow of time, the work invites viewers to rediscover a sense of self-awareness within the mirrored world of their consciousness. Traditional imagery is reinterpreted as a mirror of the past and a lens toward the future, creating a dialogue between history and modernity.
This piece ultimately stands as a singular mirror-like entity—a reflection of interconnection—where the whole is encapsulated within its mirrored symmetry. Through this approach, it underscores the timeless resonance of interconnectedness, weaving threads of tradition and innovation into a unified expression.
